INTENDED USE AND SAFETY WARNINGS

Educational & Training Use Only: CPR CLANCY™ is an educational simulation device designed strictly for first aid, CPR, airway management, and emergency response practice. It is not a medical device, nor is it intended for use in real medical treatment.

Competent Adult Supervision Required: CPR CLANCY™ is intended for use by or under the direct supervision of a trained or knowledgeable adult (such as a certified CPR/First Aid instructor, healthcare professional, or designated adult trainer). It is not designed for unsupervised practice or independent play.
Child Safety & Small Components: This product is NOT a toy. It is not suitable for children under 11 years of age without active adult supervision due to small parts that present a choking hazard. Keep unmonitored children away from loose components and simulation materials.
Approved Training Substances Only: Use placebo devices only. Never use real medications, needles, or sharp instruments. When simulating bodily fluids (e.g., blood, CSF), use only approved, non-toxic, food-safe substances as outlined in this manual.
Unauthorised Modifications: Do not modify, alter, or tamper with the manikin or its internal systems. Misuse, unauthorised modifications, or failure to follow these safety guidelines will void the product warranty.

ASSEMBLY AND SET UP

CPR CLANCY™ is stored in a pack-down configuration. Follow these steps to assemble the unit for training:

PLACE manikin torso on its back and remove both silicone chests and set aside.
Place the manikin torso face down on its FRONT and press to release all three clips, two either side of the neck and one at the base of the torso. Once all clips are in the correct release position the back should easily remove from the front of the torso. DO NOT BEND IT BACKWARDS on its clip this will NOT be covered in the warranty if the clip is ruined.
Inside you will see the head with attached neck, NasoPort located on the inside of the face, introducer stick and face skin.
Remove the face skin and ensure the nasal training receptacle (NasoPort) is located at the back of the face skin.
Remove the head and neck assembly (attached as one unit).
PLACE the manikin on its back. Position the head and neck into the cavity with the face facing upwards and place the front torso onto the back torso and close the cavity around the neck to hold it securely in place.
Choose which skin overlay you would like to use and attach the outer chest skin by pushing the outside lip of the skin tag in first then roll the inside skin tag into the plug to secure the skin.
Refit the face skin onto the head by simply letting the jaw relax and face skin fall gently onto the face and jaw then slide into position, place your fingers in the ears and place the ears into the cavities on the side of the head to secure in place.
To Insert the single-use VentilFlow bag into the airway take the introducer and pace it into the bag.
Tilt the head fully backwards to ensure smooth placement of the lung/airway bag.
Use the clear and green introducer to insert a single-use VentilFlow plastic lung/airway bag. Whilst inserting jiggle or wiggle the insertion tool to stop it grabbing whilst you are inserting to make sure you don’t put too much pressure on the plastic causing it to tear. After you reach the correct insertion depth as shown on the introducer , place one hand on the bag inserted into the mouth to hold it in place and the other to gently slide the introducer out.

Before Training Checklist:

Manikin is fully assembled with face skin attached.
NasoPort and Ear Cavities (OtoCav) are clean, dry, and ready.
A new VentilFlow airway bag is correctly installed and seated.
The base cavity is clean and closed.
Seals and connectors have been inspected.

TRAINING OPERATIONS

Chest Compressions & Mode Selector

Selector Dial: Rotate the green dial on the back of the manikin to select "Adult" or "Child" mode before commencing. Ensure the dial is fully engaged.
Technique: Place hands in the centre of the chest and compress straight down with locked arms.
Feedback: Audible feedback will indicate adequate compression depth. Avoid angled or off-centred compressions to prevent incorrect feedback and premature wear.

Airway & Ventilations

Supported Methods: Head tilt/chin lift, jaw positioning, mouth-to-mask, bag-valve-mask (BVM), Guedel (oropharyngeal) airway, and asthma placebo inhalers.
Validation: Visible chest rise confirms correct positioning. If the chest does not rise, reposition the head, check bag placement, or replace the bag if damaged/moist.
Requirement: Always ensure a clean, single-use airway bag is installed before conducting any airway training.

Wound & Fluid Simulation Cavities

Nasal Cavity (NasoPort): Used for intranasal midazolam and CSF leak training.
Ear Cavities (OtoCav): Used for foreign body wash-out and CSF leak demonstration.
Abdominal/Chest Wounds: Used for gunshot, impalement, and stabbing scenarios. When simulating bleeding or fluid loss, you MUST use the provided CPR Clancy plastic liner/bag and gloves for hygiene and safety.

CLEANING PROTOCOLS

Remove Airway Bag: Remove and safely dispose of the used VentilFlow airway bag.

Hand Hygiene: Wash or sanitise hands.

Clean / Disinfect Surface: Wipe the nose and mouth area (while the face remains attached) using a mild detergent solution or an approved disinfectant wipe. Allow to remain wet for 30 seconds if using a disinfectant wipe.

Rinse Residue: Wipe the area thoroughly with a clean, damp microfibre cloth rinsed in fresh water to remove any remaining soap or disinfectant residue.

Dry: Dry using a clean, lint-free microfibre cloth (avoid paper towels, as they shred on silicone) and air dry briefly.

Reinstall Bag: Insert a new VentilFlow airway bag only when the area is completely clean and dry.

CLEANING SIMULATION CAVITIES

Nasal Cavity & Ear Cavities: Remove inserts (if applicable), flush with warm water, wash with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly with fresh water to remove soap, and air dry completely to prevent Mold. Reinstall the nasal cavity once dry.

Abdominal/Chest Wound Cavities: Dispose of the plastic simulation liner/bag. Clean the cavities with warm water and mild detergent, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and ensure completely dry.

Base Unit & Storage Cavity: Wipe internal and external surfaces with mild detergent, remove residue with a clean damp cloth, and air dry completely.

PACK DOWN STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

Pack Down Procedure

Confirm all components (especially face folds, channels, and cavities) are completely clean and dry.
Reinstall the NasoPort into the nose cavity.
Position the head and neck assembly in the base cavity following the pictures.
Attach the chest and two chest overlays to the outside of the unit.
Secure all accessories and close the base.
Rotate the rear dial to LOCK mode to protect internal mechanisms during transit.

Transport & Environment Warnings

Store CPR Clancy™ in the provided carry bag in a cool, dry indoor environment.
Remove the head for long-term storage and pack inside the torso.
Extreme Temperature Warning: Never leave the manikin in direct sunlight, hot vehicles, or freezing conditions (0°C or below). Rapid temperature changes or extreme heat/cold can cause material embrittlement, warping, cracking, and internal damage without visible warning. Allow a cold manikin to naturally return to room temperature before use. Damage from improper environmental exposure is not covered under warranty.

MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AGAINST DEFECTS

CPR CLANCY – KD2 TRAINING MANIKIN

WARRANTY STATEMENT

CPR Clancy warrants that the CPR CLANCY - KD2 Training Manikin is manufactured to a reasonable standard of quality and is intended for use in CPR and first aid training environments.

This voluntary warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law.

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION & WARRANTY PERIOD

Each CPR CLANCY- KD2 Training Manikin is supplied with a unique serial number or batch identification code for quality control, traceability, and warranty verification purposes. This information must be provided when lodging a warranty claim.

CPR Clancy provides a two (2) year limited warranty from the date of purchase.

During this period, CPR CLANCY will assess products that are found to have defects in materials or workmanship under normal and intended training use.

If a warranty claim is accepted, CPR CLANCY will, at its digression: :

repair the product; or
replace the product or affected component; or
provide an equivalent solution where repair or replacement is not practical.

Any repair or replacement does not extend the original warranty period or create a new warranty term.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

This voluntary warranty applies only where the CPR CLANCY -KD2 Training Manikin has been:

used in accordance with its intended purpose
maintained in a reasonable and appropriate condition
not modified, altered, or tampered with by unauthorised persons
not subjected to misuse, neglect, or damage outside normal training use

Users are required to follow all supplied care, use, and maintenance instructions provided by CPR Clancy. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage that is not covered under this voluntary warranty.

CARE, USE AND ENVIRONMENTAL LIMITATIONS

To ensure proper performance and longevity of the CPR CLANCY- KD2 Training Manikin, reasonable care must be taken in storage, transport, and use.

The CPR CLANCY -KD2 Training Manikin should not be:

left in enclosed hot environments (including vehicles or direct sunlight for extended periods)
exposed to excessive heat, flame, or high-temperature sources
exposed to excessive moisture, flooding, or immersion in water unless specifically designed for such use
cleaned with harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning agents not recommended by CPR Clancy
subjected to rough handling, crushing, or impact outside normal training use
stored in conditions that may cause deformation, material breakdown, or component damage
exposed to freezing temperatures (0°C or below) for prolonged periods

stored in unheated environments where freezing may occur (including sheds, vehicles, or outdoor storage areas)
used immediately after exposure to cold conditions without allowing gradual return to room temperature
subjected to rapid heating methods (including heaters, hot water, or direct heat sources) to thaw or restore flexibility

Cold exposure may result in:

temporary or permanent stiffening of silicone or flexible components
increased brittleness of plastic parts
reduced seal performance in connectors or internal systems
potential cracking or material fatigue over time

Failure to follow these care and environmental guidelines may result in damage that is not covered under this voluntary warranty.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

This voluntary warranty does not cover:

normal wear and tear from regular training use
damage caused by improper assembly, handling, storage, or transport
unauthorised repairs or modifications
use outside intended CPR and first aid training applications
consumable or replaceable components subject to routine degradation

CUSTOMER REMEDY

Where a defect is confirmed under this voluntary warranty, CPR Clancy will provide a remedy that is fair and reasonable in the circumstances.

Where required under the Australian Consumer Law, reasonable costs associated with return of goods may be covered or reimbursed.

AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to meet acceptable quality standards and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
